Adolescent Counselling

I am passionate about working with and supporting adolescents as they navigate their internal world, within different environments and relationships.

Life’s journey has many obstacles and times of transition, which teenagers process and manage differently to adults. Children can experience stressful life changes such as moving homes, relationship issues, loss, parental divorce or blended families. Other’s may display maladjusted behaviour without any significant or obvious stressors.

For teenagers, it can feel overwhelming navigating social relationships, especially within the current digitally defined world. Academic pressures can increase and a deeper curiosity and awareness of the self and the world begins to grow. I work with identity and believe that exploring, developing and nurturing a strong and stable sense of self in adolescence creates a solid platform to launch into grown-up life.

Conscious Career Counselling

I offer conscious career counselling to students of all ages and in all stages of their career journey!

  • Grade 9 learners having to make subject choice decisions

  • Grade 11 & 12 considering post-school options

Career Counseling is a process that will help you to understand yourself and the world of work in order to make career, educational, and life decisions. Career development is more than just deciding on a major and what job you want to get when you graduate.. It is a lifelong process, meaning that throughout your life you will change, situations will change, and you will continually have to make career and life decisions. The goal of Career Counseling is to not only help you make the decisions you need to make now, but to give you the knowledge and skills you need to make future career and life decisions.

I offer guidance in the following ways:

  • Talk to me about your thoughts, ideas, feelings, and concerns about your career and educational choices. I will help you sort out, organise, and make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

  • Conduct psychometric assessments to evaluate your aptitude, interests, personality and values

  • Help you identify and gain insight into the factors influencing your career development

  • Help you locate resources and sources of career information.

  • Help you to determine next steps and develop a plan to achieve your goals.

Conscious Parent Counselling

I offer conscious parent counselling to moms, dads, grandparents and caregivers

Conscious parents form the foundation of thriving, happy and well adjusted children and communities. It is through self awareness that we move away from isolation and disconnection and step into our wonderful essence as parents and caregivers and nurture our desire for a strong family connection.

Becoming a parent can be overwhelming and we begin to remember and learn about our own childhood triggers, needs and relationship dynamics. By choosing to step into and understand these we are able to manage and regulate our emotions and become more conscious, connected and empowered.

Life Transition & Empowerment Counselling

Life is made up of times of change and transition. Whether it be becoming a new parent, ending a marriage or saying goodbye to your kids as they start their own lives. These times of transition can be uncomfortable and it can take time to adapt and find a new way of being.

I offer my support in the following ways:

  • I help you successfully navigate the transitions you find yourself experiencing

  • I facilitate the exploration of your wild and wonderful parts that perhaps have been forgotten or repressed

  • I support you as you step into a new way of living and guide you in doing this gently and consciously

  • I equip you with tools of self-empowerment and self love and belief

“I underestimated how hard it would be adjusting to an empty nest, but with Kelly’s help, I was able to embrace my independence and reawaken so many parts of me.”

- Olivia R, Gauteng, RSA

“I was going through a divorce and I felt emotionally unsupported. I would chat to my friends about what I was experiencing but eventually I began to be seen as the friend in crisis. My weekly time with Kelly gave me the space to vent and express my pain and frustration without feeling judged or labelled”

- Megan, Cape Town, RSA

“I was starting to use too many drugs to numb the pain of loosing a loved one. I began to dislike myself. Kelly helped me move through the process of grief and loss. I was equipped with tools that allowed me to understand the process of loss, which made me aware and able to accept my feelings as and when they showed up”

- Luke, Durban, RSA
